We are pleased to announce that Linda Beerman has resumed her role as head of the CIBC Atlantic Trust Wealth Strategies Group.
Linda has served 16 years with the firm as a leader in various roles, including chief fiduciary officer and as a member of the firmwide Operating Committee, in addition to her service as head of the Wealth Strategies Group, which she created.
A leader in the financial services industry, Linda was recognized in 2015 as one of the “50 Most Influential Women in Private Wealth” by Private Asset Management magazine and has been featured in The Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg, as well as Forbes and Private Wealth magazines. Before joining our firm in 2001, she was manager of estate and financial planning in Wachovia’s Trust Department. She is a member of the North Carolina Bar and the North Carolina Bar Association and has served on the Trust Drafting Committee of the North Carolina General Statutes Commission and as a member of the adjunct faculty of the Wake Forest University School of Law.
Linda has been instrumental in developing and guiding educational initiatives for multi-generational clients and families, such as Women’s CIRCLE and G2G Impact (Generation to Generation). She will continue to shape the long-term vision and direction of the Wealth Strategies Group and will play an important leadership role as the business expands, while at the same time working with clients and their advisors to develop and implement charitable, estate, and wealth transfer and management planning as part of CIBC Atlantic Trust’s integrated approach to wealth management.
Linda is ably assisted by other members of the Wealth Strategies Group, including Halsey Schreier, who continues to provide wealth and legacy planning for clients here in our New York office. He joined our team from Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP, where his practice focused on estate and tax planning for high net worth individuals, trust and estate administration, business succession planning and corporate law. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of South Carolina, a Juris Doctor degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in taxation from the New York University School of Law. He is admitted to the South Carolina, North Carolina and New York bars, and has served as a member of the South Carolina Bar Probate, Estate Planning and Trust Section Council and has co-authored articles for the South Carolina Lawyer.
